Nadia thompson

The current Chairperson and Program Director for Black History Manitoba.

She has been a member of BHMCC since 2008. She has been a youth member, event lead and secretary. Her professional background is in administrative work as she has a degree in Office and Business Administration. Her current career is in healthcare, she has been with the WRHA for the last 16 years.

For her it has been a joy to work with Black History Manitoba volunteers over the years, some who have been with the organization since its conception, who have taught and led in ways that can’t be explained. We have grown in so many ways as an organization due to our like-mindedness, humility and community spirit. Our goal is to continue the path laid out for us to share history, culture and pride with the greater public.

The impact, hardship and contributions of our community then and now is an important part of Canadian History that has been left unexplored and under appreciated; we continue to make those who have been forgotten remembered and encourage others to do the same.
